Why is there a processing fee up front?

The one-time processing fee of $20 covers the cost of the initial paperwork, scheduling, and agreement writing, if applicable. Session fees apply for time spent with a mediator and a sliding fee scale can be utilized. This processing fee can be waived due to lack of income.
